Overview

Sargassum Booms, also known as seaweed containment booms, are floating barrier systems designed to collect, divert, and control Sargassum, seaweed, and other floating pollutants before they spread into protected shoreline or waterfront areas. By creating a controlled barrier on the water, Sargassum booms help manage floating vegetation while protecting the surrounding site, shoreline, and local environment.

Enviro-USA™ Sargassum Boom systems are available in multiple configurations for different containment requirements. Standard Sargassum Booms are available in 31-inch or 37-inch overall heights with 19-inch or 24-inch skirt drafts, while the 50-inch Heavy-Duty

Sargassum Boom Features

36-inch skirt draft and a permeable mesh skirt. Systems are manufactured with heavy-duty PVC materials, tension cables, ballast chain, ASTM Universal Slide Connectors, and anchoring points for dependable floating containment. Custom lengths are also available to accommodate site-specific layouts.

A Sargassum boom, also called a seaweed containment boom, is a floating barrier designed to collect, divert, and control Sargassum, floating vegetation, and other surface debris before it reaches beaches, shorelines, marinas, or protected water areas. Enviro-USA™ Sargassum booms use durable PVC construction, flotation, a submerged skirt, ballast, and connection hardware to create a continuous containment barrier on the water.

Sargassum and seaweed booms are well suited for coastal shorelines, resorts, beaches, marinas, waterfront properties, harbors, and other locations affected by floating seaweed and marine debris. They can be positioned to intercept, redirect, or contain Sargassum before it accumulates along shorelines, helping protect the site and surrounding environment while supporting ongoing seaweed management operations.

Sargassum boom configurations are available for different deployment requirements. Enviro-USA™ offers a 50-inch Heavy-Duty Sargassum Boom with a 36-inch skirt draft and permeable mesh skirt, as well as standard Sargassum Boom options with 31- or 37-inch overall heights and 19- or 24-inch skirt depths. Custom lengths are available, allowing the boom system to be configured for specific shoreline and floating seaweed containment needs.
