Over grate protection is a Stormwater Best Management Practice (BMP) installed directly over a storm drain grate to help prevent sediment, silt, sand, debris, trash, and other pollutants from entering the stormwater system. The filter allows stormwater to flow toward the drain while capturing contaminants before they enter the drainage system and potentially reach surrounding waterways.

Stormwater flows toward and through the over grate filter before entering the drain. The filtration materials help capture sediment and debris, while perimeter sediment ridges promote settling of suspended particles. The Enviro-USA™ over grate design also incorporates a center overflow port to provide additional flow capacity and help reduce ponding during higher-flow conditions.
